Begin your journey at Kilema Gate, cycling through shaded forest paths and rural landscapes. The ride is smooth and scenic, allowing you to settle into the rhythm of the mountain while support vehicles transport your main gear ahead.

Forest ridingKilema

Ride and push through changing terrain as the trail steepens and vegetation thins. The day blends cycling with short hike sections, easing you higher while revealing wider views of the mountain’s northern slopes.

Mixed trailHorombo

An acclimatization day designed to strengthen your body and sharpen your mindset. Take an optional ride or hike toward Zebra Rocks before returning to Horombo. The afternoon is yours to rest, hydrate, and enjoy the alpine setting.

Leave the bikes behind and continue on foot across the broad alpine saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. The landscape turns stark and dramatic as you arrive at high camp, preparing for the summit push ahead.

Depart before dawn for your summit attempt, climbing steadily toward Gilman’s Point and onward to Uhuru Peak. After celebrating at the top of Africa, descend back to Horombo for a well-earned rest.
